Doctor who poisoned her boyfriend gets sentenced

HOUSTON, Tx. -- The doctor who spiked her lover's coffee with antifreeze is getting an icy-cold taste of reality.

Dr. Ana Gonzalez-Angulo has been sentenced to ten years in prison and slapped with a $10,000 fine. Prosecutors had been seeking a punishment of 30 years.

Gonzalez was convicted of aggravated assault last week. The jury ruled that the breast cancer doctor did drug her lover/colleague in 2013, apparently after Dr. George Blumenschein ditched her for his live-in girlfriend.
