BALTIMORE, MD - Swimmer Michael Phelps is making waves again.

Apparently, the most-decorated Olympian of all time is toweling off his swimming career so he can dry up. Phelps says he's taking a break from the sport to allow himself time to "attend a program that will provide the help I need to better understand myself."

Last week in Baltimore the 29 year old was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, using excessive speed and crossing double lines.

He`s been tweeting his thoughts about this "lapse in judgement" not being his first and his disappointment with himself.

In 2004 Phelps was arrested for DUI, pled guilty and was sentenced to 18 months probation.
