HOUSTON, Tx.  --  Hey hot stuff, guess what? You're not getting any younger. But that doesn't mean you have to let yourself go. Plenty of us old-timers make it a point to try and stay in shape. But if you want to keep rocking that apple-bottom all the way to the pearly gates, well... some say you are what you eat.

According to the pet paramours at PETA the secret to staying sexy well into your prime is all about keeping a vegan diet. And now they're hosting the 'Sexiest Vegan Over 50' contest to prove it. Darla Berry, 54, from Houston is one of 14 finalists hoping to vindicate her vegan virtues by winning a trip to Guatemala and a sexy photo shoot in Los Angeles.

"Most of us grow up eating meat, wearing leather and going to circuses and zoos never considering the impact it has on the lives of the animals," Darla says, "but as I got older I realized these animals don't have a choice, but I do."

But going vegan isn't easy.

"It's just like any other practice like flossing your teeth," Darla explains. "Once you get into the habit of it, it's just natural."

But the vegans of the world say if you want to look this good past fifty, it's worth the work.
