HOUSTON, Tx. -- This is one list we should be happy not to be at the top of.
Rattiest city in the country. That title goes to Chicago! We`re happy to scury way down to number 13.

Brian Voorhes with Orkin explained the problem, "It`s a major issue within the metropolitan cities. New York, Chicago, when you get those dense populations versus Houston, ours is more widespread where we have the ability to control."

Orkin ranked the top 20 cities by the number of rodent treatments in 2013.

Those pesky rodents carry all kinds of diseases and might surprise you.

"A quarter size is what a Norway rat can get in. Field mice can get into an access of a dime size." according to Voorhes.

Droppings are the best hint to know you might have some unwelcome guests in your home.

"Move anything that`s been stored, sugars, and cereal boxes. You always want to look towards the back." added Voorhes.

To avoid rats in mice, seal any access points. Rat traps are a handy tool to get rid of them, and if that doesn`t work, it might be time to call the pros.

Happy hunting!!
