HOUSTON, Texas - Are you stressed? Overwhelmed? Then you should “face the music.”

Apparently, it really is “all about that bass” according to research from the Northwestern University. Scientists found, listening to tunes with a beat is not only “music to your ears” but a stimulant for your soul. It can also make you feel empowered, and even work harder.

Using 31 songs from pop, hip hop, reggae and heavy metal, researchers had participants rate how powerful each song made them feel. Here are the top 3 tunes to improve your work performance and get you nominated for Employee of the Month:

  1. Queen “We Will Rock You”
  2. 2 Unlimited, “Get Ready For This"
  3. 50 Cent’s “In Da Club”

So if you want to perk up your work performance, stick with songs that have a bouncy beat.
