CHICAGO, Illinois - A small cargo plane crashed right into an elderly couple's home near Chicago's Midway airport just moments after taking off.

Officials say the pilot reported engine problems not long after departure and tried to make his way back to the airport.

About a quarter of a mile from the end of the runway, he smashed through the front of the couple's house and ended up in their living room.

Luckily, the plane missed them by eight inches.

Unfortunately, the pilot died on scene.
