December 8: The Doors lead singer John Morrison would have been 71 today. He died at the age of 27 of a heart attack  in Paris, France. Last year, Metallica became the first band to have played on all seven continents as they played at a base on Antarctica. John Lennon was shot and killed by Mark David Chapman in New York City in 1980.
