HOUSTON, Texas -- Money makes the world go round, and in Texas, some public employees rake it in, according to data from The Texas Tribune.

Who`s the highest paid public worker in the Lone Star State? No, not the Governor, but former head football coach for the University of Texas, Mack Brown, at nearly four million bucks.

In Houston, Mayor Annise Parker makes just over $234,000. But the mayor isn`t the highest paid city employee, she`s down in the number four slot.
The EMS Physician Director is thirdat just under $253,000, the Aviation Director takes the number two position with almost $275,000, and number one is the City Attorney, David Feldman, with a whopping $350,000 annual paycheck.

We know it's an awful lot of money to us, but put any of them in the private sector, these paychecks might seem like chump change.
