Margaret Mayer found guilty of failing to stop and render aid in cyclist’s death

HOUSTON, TX – A jury found Margaret Mayer guilty of failing to stop and render aid in a cyclist’s death.

The 35-year-old was charged with failing to stop and render aid in the death of 24-year-old cyclist Chelsea Norman last year.

On Sunday night, the cycling community gathered outside of Whole Foods on Waugh, where Norman used to work, to show support. Norman was struck on her bike after having left work, and left to die in the street.

The penalty phase of the trial will begin on Tuesday and she faces a maximum of 20 years prison
