RENTON, WASHINGTON - A stand-up comedian in Washington state was savagely attacked at a club after a fellow comic beat him repeatedly with a baseball bat.

Dylan Avila was performing on stage when the suspect, Steve Baldwin , snuck into the club, hopped on stage, and started swinging.

"I just saw an image and a blur and the bat," said Avila. "One more could have just been, could have been the end of it, and he was going for another one. So, I'm very fortunate to have a lot of good friends."

Fortunately, Avila's friends were able to tackle Baldwin and managed to stop the attack. Avila suffered a double concussion and doctors even had to put titanium plates in his skull. Avila thinks he was targeted because he banned Baldwin from open mic night.

Baldwin got the boot because the club's owners considered his act obscene, which apparently, included him waving around sex toys.

"It was offensive on every level," Avila said. "There was no joke told. There was nothing humorous about it."

Baldwin, the suspect, is behind bars.
