AUSTIN, TX - It looks like 56 vanity license plates in Texas are at risk of being removed.

MyPlates.com, the official vendor for specialty license plates in the Lone Star State, has notified charities, schools, companies and sports clubs that their designs do not meet the requirement of 200 plates actively in use.

The Tyler Junior College Apache Belles and the Longview Independent School District logos, for instance, are way below the threshold.  While those might not be too surprising, the Houston Rockets and the Houston Dynamo also are not top sellers.  They didn't even sell 200 plates in one year.

MyPlates.com representatives are meeting with these organizations to help them boost their marketing strategies.
