HOUSTON – If you’re looking for a way to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Martin Luther King Day, we’ve compiled a list of the following events:

What: 37th Annual “Original” MLK Parade

Where: Starts at Minute Maid Park, ends at the George R. Brown Convention Center

When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.


What: 21st Annual MLK Grand Parade

Where: San Jacinto Street and Elgin Street, northbound on San Jacinto to Webster Street

When: 10 a.m. to noon


What: Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the Children’s Museum

Where: 1500 Binz Street

When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.


What: Freedmen’s Town Preservation Coalition presents  a Historic Preservation Society Forum

Where: 3816 Caroline Street

When: 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.


What: MLK Day of Service in Houston

Where: Grace Lutheran Church, 2515 Waugh Drive

When: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
