HOUSTON - Last night was “fight night” in the NBA. In one corner Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey. In the other: “The Round Mound of Rebound” a.k.a. former Rocket and TNT commentator, Charles Barkley.

“Chuck” threw the first punch saying the Rockets were a bad defensive team. Morey countered with a jab tweeting: “The best part of being at a TNT game live is it is easy to avoid Charles spewing misinformed biased vitriol disguised as entertainment.”

Whether it’s the basketball court or the court of public opinion, Sir Charles loves to “duke it out” just ask Barney the Dinosaur.

Barkley responded to Morey’s tweet with the same intensity that battered Barney saying “I’m not worried about Daryl Morey. He’s one of those idiots who believe in analytics.” (FYI- Analytics is the use of statistics to predict a player’s performance.)

Chuck went on to say, “Smart guys wanted to fit in so they made up a term called analytics. All these guys who run these organizations who talk about analytics have one thing in common, they’re a bunch of guys who ain’t never played the game and they never got the girls in high school and they just want to get in the game. Listen, I wouldn’t know Daryl Morey if he walked in this room right now.”

Well, at least Morey knows what Barkley looks like.
