FULSHEAR, Texas -- When folks in Fulshear, Texas buy or sell something off Craigslist or Facebook, they can make an appointment to complete the transaction in the police parking lot under the watchful eyes of law enforcement.

Captain Mike McCoy of the Fulshear Police Department says, "Most people who make these sales it`s a cash option so they know that somebody showing up has cash and if it`s a crook you`re dealing with or a thug, they`re going to take your cash. I`d be surprised if they do it here at the police department."

Fulshear is the first police department in the great state of Texas to launch this type of program. And it's not only about providing safety.

McCoy says, "We're also going to take that product that is being sold and check it against our database with serial numbers to make sure it is not stolen and to make sure you are buying a reliable product. I think the only people who don't like or want this program are the crooks and I don't think they'll show up."
