Promotional fail; Krispy Kreme apologizes for ‘KKK’ doughnut club

HULL, United Kingdom -- Some marketing campaigns are better than others. But you know what they say, negative press is better than no press at all, right? Maybe that was the inspiration behind Krispy Kreme’s latest promotion in the U.K. which called for a “KKK Wednesday”.

The doughnut maker quickly issued an apology and explained the three Ks were supposed to stand for the Krispy Kreme Klub.
