HOUSTON, TX - Coming from Sweeny to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo was a little extra special for the Upham family this year.  18-year-old Kacie showed off her cow, Jewel, for the first time in Houston.

"It is a very big accomplishment to be able to come and show in a place as big as this," Kacie Upham said.

Her dad, Micheal, takes pride in seeing his daughter take part in raising animals.

"This one has been more her than me, I've stepped out of everything," Micheal Upham said. "Everything she gets out of this heifer, she'll know she's the one that brought her to this point."

Jewel earned sixth place in her classification for the Junior Breeding Heifer Show.
