HUDSON, FLORIDA - Siblings are going to fight. It's a part of growing up.  However, one Florida family is forever changed, after an apparent argument over food.

Three brothers, ages six, 13 and 16, were home alone when the food fight began.

"At some point during that time period we believe, preliminarily, that the 13-year-old obtained a gun," said Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco.

That's when, the sheriff says, the 13-year-old did the unthinkable; he pulled the trigger, killing his six-year-old brother and wounding the 16-year-old, before turning the gun on himself.

"A six-year-old that was probably playing in his room, an argument over food and he lost his life," said Nocco.

All this, while their mother was at work.

Police are hoping the 16-year-old survivor will help them piece together how a night at the dinner table turned to tragedy.
