MONROE, LA - Prom night is something most high school students look forward to, but one Louisiana girl may have to miss out on that special night all because she can't wear the outfit of her choice.

Claudetteia Love is an openly gay senior at Carroll High School in Monroe, Louisiana and wants to wear a tuxedo instead of a dress.

The school principal isn't letting that happen saying the school's dress code bans girls from wearing them to the prom.

Love and her mom think the ban is about more than just a dress code and say it has to do with her sexuality.

So instead of dancing the night away at prom, which is scheduled for April 24, Love and her friends plan to protest the event by not attending.
