LEXINGTON, KY – With half the married couples ending up divorced these days, the phrase “till death do us part” just isn’t something everyone takes seriously. A Lexington couple married for 73 years however, took the vow very literal.

William Wilson, 93, died on April 7 at 3:52am. His son Doug took the devastating call from his father’s nursing home. Just five minutes later the unthinkable happened.

Doug received a phone call from his mother’s nursing home informing him she too had just passed at 3:57am. Married more than seven decades Lillian and William did everything as one, even in death.

Their son Doug says he’s actually grateful he lost both of his parents at once, it’s exactly the way they would have wanted it.
