SEABROOK -- The City of Seabrook says there have been several reports of alligator sightings in and around the Pine Gully Channel, and they want people to know it's important not to panic. They say if you see a gator, you only need to report it if you feel an immediate danger.
Otherwise, keep these things in mind:
- Never feed them.
- Keep pets on short leashes and under your control.
- If you hear an alligator hiss, back off.
- Remember they're scared of you too.
- Don't be an idiot and try to move one, or swim with one, or even approach one at all (by the way, did you know they can run up to 35 miles an hour for a short distance?!).
That's about all you need to know. Later gator.
