Rockets beat Mavs to advance to second round of NBA playoffs
HOUSTON – The Houston Rockets were unable to get the sweep but they did get rid of the Dallas Mavericks by beating them 103-94 on Tuesday night at the Toyota Center to win the series 4-1. This is the first time the Rockets have ever beaten their I-45 rivals in a postseason series. The Rockets will now play the winner of the San Antonio Spurs-Los Angeles Clippers series.
James Harden led the Rockets in scoring with 28 points while Dwight Howard added 18 points (7-14 FG) and 19 rebounds. Josh Smith added 20 points and eight rebounds. Monta Ellis scored 25 points to pace the Mavs and Dirk Nowitzki added 22 points.
