HOUSTON - Dozens of people were left standing around after the power went out inside the Municipal Courthouse in downtown Houston early Monday morning.

Because of the outage, officials were forced to ask everyone  to leave and come back later. Crews were able to restore power by mid-afternoon.

Over at the Harris County Civil Courthouse, a suspicious spotted nearby in a parked car. Bomb squads were called and the courthouse was partially evacuated.

About an hour before the suspicious package was reported, some sort of white substance was found near the same spot. Hazmat crews investigated and determined it wasn't dangerous.

Officials say the package and substance don't seem to be connected.
