HOUSTON, TX - What began as a smash-and-grab burglary in southwest Houston turned into a chase, a crash and a search early Thursday morning.

It got started around 3 a.m. when Houston Police say three suspects used a stolen van to smash into the City Gear store on Fondren Rd., grabbing clothes and other merchandise. An officer spotted that van a few minutes later, which launched a chase to Bissonnet and Weslayan, where the suspects crashed into the backyard of a home. The three men jumped out and ran, but officers used K-9 units and a helicopter to track them down and arrest them.
