Former Texan Antonio Smith under investigation in Fort Bend County

RICHMOND, TX - Former Houston Texan Antonio Smith is the subject of a Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office investigation. TMZ first reported Smith was being investigated over allegations of child abuse.

"In November 2014, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office received a complaint of a criminal allegation against Antonio Smith," the FBCSO said in a statement. "According to Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls, the allegation against Mr. Smith was sexual in nature."

Fort Bend County District Attorney John Healey told NewsFix, "The Fort Bend County District Attorney's office is working with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's office about an undisclosed claim or matter made against Antonio Smith.  As we attempt to gather information we will work towards resolving the matter."

Smith hasn't been arrested and no charges have been filed yet.
