HOUSTON, TX- We've got some sad news from our friends at the Houston Zoo. Neema, an eight-year-old female giraffe died Wednesday night after being really sick for the past week.

Zoo officials say she died of a fast-acting intestinal illness. Neema suffered from a complicated condition called "twisted gut" and doctor's say it's extreme and incurable.

The zoo says she'll always be remembered as a one of the 10-giraffe herd that zoo goers adore. So, the next time you go to the zoo, check on the rest of Neema's crew and show them some love.
