HOUSTON, TX - Some people deserve a second chance, and they turned out in droves for a possible shot at a fresh start. Stories of people who showed up at Texas Southern University seeking employment range from those who dropped out of school at a young age to nonviolent ex-felons.
Originally, just a few hundred were expected to be at the Second Chance Job Fair. But well over one thousand people showed up looking for their dream jobs. Council Member Dwight Boykins and the District (D) office hosted the popular event. they hope that it can provide job training opportunities for individuals in need of a second chance.
