HOUSTON, TX --   A funeral this afternoon will celebrate the life of a Houston police officer killed in the line of duty earlier this week.

Officer Richard Martin, 47, was run over by a carjacking suspect while laying down spike strips during a chase.

The four year veteran leaves behind a 22-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son.

Services for martin will be held at two this afternoon at Grace Community Church and will be open to the public.

Starting at 10 this morning a motorcade will escort Martin's body to the church, so expect some traffic delays as the procession moves from the Galleria area over to the Gulf Freeway.

We'll have complete coverage tonight on Newsfix at 5 and 9.
