HOUSTON, TX – The Astros will try to bust a seven-game losing streak when they host the Mariners on Friday night.  Houston has seen their AL West lead trimmed to two games.

“It’s disappointing, but it’s understandable,” Astros fan Keith Garcia said. “It’s baseball. It’s a 162-game season. It’s just a bunch of young guys trying to get where they need to be.”

“It doesn’t bother me. They’ve played too well,” added fellow fan, James Shumate. “You can’t keep it up forever, and a losing streak brings back the mentality of what can happen when you let it go.”

On Twitter, some fans are using the hashtag #CurseofTalsHill to describe the streak. The losing skid began on the same day the Astros announced they’d remove the center field landmark at Minute Maid Park after the season.
