HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A suspect trying to outrun Harris County sheriff’s deputies ended up hitting a teen during a chase.

Around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy tried to pull the car over in the Garden City area. A chase ensued, ending when the suspect car hit a boy, then crashed. The driver, who jumped out and ran, still hasn’t been caught. But deputies did determine why he refused to pull over.

“After everything was over, we learned the vehicle was stolen from Garden City but had not been reported yet. We recovered narcotics, a pistol and a shotgun from the vehicle,” said Sgt. Kevin Sims.

Also during the chase, a secondary unit crashed, injuring a deputy. He was treated for a minor cut on his arm. As for the teen who was hit, he wasn’t seriously hurt, but he did go to the hospital.
