FT. BEND COUNTY, TX – As if having your home ruined by floodwaters wasn’t enough, now fake FEMA inspectors are trying to prey on you, according to the Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management.

Emergency managers say they’ve received a number of calls from residents reporting people posing as FEMA officials. But at this time, there are no FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance Teams working in Ft. Bend County. However, FEMA contractors may visit your home if you’ve filed a FEMA claim.

If someone comes to your home claiming to be from FEMA, you should ask to see ID. If they don’t have any, immediately dial 911.
