Pediatric physician no longer employed at MD Anderson

HOUSTON – Dennis Hughes is no longer employed by The University of Texas  MD Anderson Cancer Center.  Following discussions between attorneys for Hughes and MD Anderson today, Hughes resigned his position and MD Anderson accepted that resignation.

Hughes had been a pediatric oncologist at the MD Anderson Cancer Center but is at the center of an investigation where he was hit with federal charges after police say they found more than 8,000 child porn images on a thumb drive in his possession.

If convicted, Hughes faces up to 20 years for possesion of child pornography and up to five years for the receipt as well as a possible $250,000 fine.
