SAN DIEGO, CA – Cell phone video posted on Facebook shows a 13-year-old boy being tasered by a sheriff's deputy.

In the footage, the boy can be heard screaming and witnesses can be heard freaking out.

“He was aggressive, we didn't want him to harm us or anything," said one of the young (unidentified) witnesses.

“He didn't have to go that far,” said another.

What's significant and not on camera though, is the fact that the San Diego County Sheriff's Department says the whole thing started when the teenagers mom called them.

"She advised that her son had been missing and had run away for about a day and a half,” says Jan Caldwell, spokesperson for the San Diego county Sheriff's Department.

According to Caldwell, the deputy found the teen and tried to take him home, but the kid refused, gave him lip, and even bit him on the hand.

"The deputy reached out to him and at that point he became combative and assaultive. He had his hands in his waistband part of the time, so we don’t know if he has a weapon or a knife or a gun."

The deputy remains on active duty while this is under investigation.
