PEARLAND, TX -- A former major league baseball player is dead in what looks like a murder-suicide, with a baby sitting by.

Pearland police say Darryl Hamilton, an MLB Network analyst and former Rangers outfielder was found shot to death in the Shadow Creek Ranch subdivision. They say someone had called 911 to report a disturbance in a home, and when officers showed up, Hamilton was dead near the entrance and the mother of his 14-month-old baby was dead in another area. The baby was there, but unhurt.

Police say Hamilton was shot, and Monica Jordan killed herself. While investigators try to figure it all out, the baseball community is speaking up.

The MLB Ntwork tweeted: "We mourn the passing of our friend and colleague, Daryl Hamilton."
