CHARLESTON, SC - Former child actor Jake Lloyd, who played Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, was arrested by police in Charleston, South Carolina after a high-speed chase.

Police say they were responding to complaints about a reckless driver when they tried to pull Lloyd over. He refused to stop and led police on a chase for an estimated 25 miles. Police say the chase exceeded speeds of 100 miles-an-hour and that Lloyd crossed into oncoming traffic at least once. The chase ended when Lloyd tried to drive on an overgrown back road and ended up crashing into several small trees.

Police say Lloyd did not appear to be intoxicated or on drugs, and they are not sure why he did not stop.
