HOUSTON, TX -- They used to check on him regularly, giving him food, now two southeast Houston women want to give a homeless man a proper funeral.

You may remember when we first told you about this story...

Duc Van Tran was sleeping  in a place he called home, under the overpass of the Gulf Freeway and Airport.  Around two in the morning on May 12th police say Jamie Dorn was driving drunk and ran him over, killing him.

Two good Samaritans didn't know him but knew he was gone. After calling the Medical Examiner's office and finding out no one had claimed his remains, they asked if they could.

And now they are claiming Mr. Tran as their own, asking the community to help give him a final farewell and peaceful resting place.

You can donate on their GoFundMe page.
