HOUSTON, TX - Houston Police say they tracked down an 18-wheeler involved in a deadly crash on the Southwest Freeway because it still had parts of the victim on it.

Just before 1:30 a.m. Friday, a pedestrian was walking along US-59 near Westpark Dr. when the truck drove by. The truck hit the victim, who police say is likely a man, but didn't realize it.

"He thought he got a flat tire, according to the driver," said HPD Sgt. P. Lee. "He didn't see anything wrong with the truck, so he left the scene and returned to the truck station."

When the driver got to the truck stop near 610 & McCarty, his radiator light came on, so he looked under his truck. That's when he found part of the victim's body.

Police are still investigating.
