HOUSTON, TX - The arson bureau is looking into what caused a massive overnight fire at an under-construction hotel in west Houston.
Around 1 a.m. Thursday, Houston Fire crews were called to the site in the 18000 block of Park Row Dr. There, they found the 4-story building engulfed in flames. Crews called a second alarm, bringing in about 75 firefighters to battles the flames from the outside.
"It is a pretty significant-sized structure. There was a lot of deep-seeded fire in the building," said district chief Michael Hogue. "We didn't want to risk any firefighters lives due to the building being under construction and there was no human hazard."
Investigators aren't sure yet how the fire started.
