IRVING, TX - The Boys Scouts of America have agreed to consider letting gay scout leaders join its ranks. If approved at a July 27 meeting, scout leaders will come from all walks of life.

Locally the Sam Houston Area Council supports all policy changes, saying if it passes "we will continue to support BSA and will implement the policy change."

Less than two years ago, openly gay youth were allowed to join the scouts, but it`s taken wannabe leaders a little longer to gain acceptance.
