CONROE, TX – An update on those 200 abused and neglected horses seized from a Conroe dairy farm: they are now permanently in the custody of the Houston SPCA.

The group had temporary custody of the 207 horses that were rescued on June 25, but a judge awarded permanent custody on Thursday.

The SPCA says nearly all the animals suffered from some kind of health problem from emaciation to abscesses to open wounds and deformed hooves. The farm’s two owners now face charges.
