HOUSTON, Tx - It's time to let your hunger feed the hungry. Houston Restaurant Weeks kicked off Saturday, meaning for the next five weeks, you can try specially prepared menus at hundreds of Houston restaurants for a reasonable price. As feel-good as the food, is the fact that proceeds from every brunch, lunch, and dinner during the event gets donated to the Houston Food Bank.
Last year, the event raised $1.6 million, and with over 200 restaurants on this year's list, opportunities are endless. Canopy and Woodbar in Montrose is participating for its fifth year, and the staff says it's been fun watching restaurant weeks develop.
"From Houston all the way out to Katy, and down to Sugar Land, with all these places that are now participating, it's become a big deal. So, for us being one of the core members of it, we're very proud to see it grow," said manager Natalie Boone.
Growth means more money raised, and more options for patrons to try.
You can find a full guide of who's participating here, as well as what meals and menu items are being offered. Happy dining and donating.
