HOUSTON, TX - Members of the Forest Wood subdivision in northwest Harris County are still coming to grips with the gruesome murders of eight family members. Neighbors of the Jacksons, paid their respects by leaving toys, balloons and even a bicycle, at the front of the house where six children were found shackled and shot to death, along with two adults, Valerie and Dewayne Jackson. The man accused of this heinous crime, David Conley, remains in the Harris County Jail. Conley was the ex-boyfriend of Valerie, and father of the 13-year-old Nathaniel, who was also killed.

The Jackson family kids were no strangers to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, who long feared for the children's safety. CPS claims they filed for custody of the kids on many occasions in the past, due to domestic issues involving Dewayne Jackson. CPS is investigating the case.

Police were tipped off about trouble at the Jackson home by Valerie's mother, who received a text from her daughter saying she was being help at gun point.

Conley faces three counts of capital murder. District Attorney Devon Anderson seeks the death penalty.
