VESTAVIA HILLS, AL - The small town of Talladega, Alabama has something of a scandal on its hands -- surrounding mayor Larry Barton.

Police say 71-year-old Benny Green attacked mayor Barton in the parking lot of a barber shop. The 74 -year-old mayor told police that Green yanked his car door open and started beating him with a sawed-off baseball bat.

Sounds like this guy had some serious beef. Green's lawyer agrees, claiming that mayor Barton was secretly recorded having sex with Green's wife. Divorce documents from Green's marriage show that the encounters were recorded but don't identify the male participant by name.

Here's the real kicker: these guys used to work together! The pair used to host a radio show called "In The Interest Of The People."

It sounds like maybe someone was mixing business with pleasure. Or as they say: politics makes strange bedfellows.
