RICHMOND, TX - A man is in police custody after deputies say he climbed onto the roof of William Velasquez Elementary School and started shooting with a stolen 40 Caliber gun.

Officials say 20-year-old Christian Pieper did manage to damage some windows and an air conditioning unit. Although detectives don't believe he was actually trying to hurt anyone, he is facing multiple charges.

Fort Bend County will have extra officers patrolling today which is standard on the first day of school.
