BROOKSVILLE, FL – Playing with swords and other long, sharp toys is not always just for the boys. A blade can be an equal opportunity killer in the hands of the right lady.

Nickole Dykema, 47, of Brooksville, Florida may have thought she was just that lady.

A neighbor says this surveillance video shows Dykema cutting up the neighbor’s screen with a knife.

Deputies say she attacked them with a sword when they went to arrest her for parole violations and other charges.

They say she continued to arm herself, even after they shot her with several bean bags. It took a Taser to phase her after a five-hour stand-off.

That’s when deputies went inside the place the neighbors are calling a “House of Horrors.”

Deputies found chicken bones, rubber body parts, and what Hernado County sheriff Al Nienhuis says was something that looked like a satanic altar. "You name it, it was there.  I was told there was even some tied to the ceiling fan."

Deputies also found a horde, a cache, a really huge number of bladed weapons. About 3,500 of them: knives, swords, and machetes.

While special teams sort out the stuff in the house, investigators are sorting out why Dykema had the blades and rubber body parts in her mobile home.

But hey, it’s Florida, so what everyone else thinks is kooky behavior may just be the norm for the Sunshine State.
