BOSTON, MA - The little girl known as 'Baby Doe" has been identified as 2-year-old Bella Bond, according to a law enforcement source. Rachelle Bond, the girl`s mother, and her boyfriend, Michael McCarthy, have been arrested in connection with the death, the source said. McCarthy is not Bella`s biological father.

In June, Bella's body was found wrapped in a trash bag on a rocky shoreline in Boston Harbor. A forensic artist's photo of "Baby Doe" was shared more than 50 million times as the public tried to identify her.

Rachelle Bond's Facebook page paints her as a doting mom who captioned her photos of Bella with comments like "My heart beats because she's in my world." A video from the toddler's second birthday reveals Bond spent the morning decorating the house with balloons and silly string before Bella woke up.

"C'mon, monkey, look!" Bond says in the video. "Look what Mama did while you were sleeping!"

According to The Daily Beast, a family member was growing suspicious of Bond. When the family member asked where Bella was, Bond reportedly answered that she was in foster care. But a search turned up no trace of the girl, so the family member went to police.

On Thursday, officers searched Bond's home, arresting her and her boyfriend, Michael McCarthy. Investigators have yet to reveal a cause of death in the case.
