Police investigating why woman was crossing 290 when fatally struck

HOUSTON, TX — Struck and killed by oncoming traffic on 290. Police are now trying to figure out why a woman was trying to cross the highway to begin with.

Just before 9pm Wednesday police responded to the fatal crash in the northbound lanes of 290 at the West Loop.

In the middle of the highway laid a 33-year-old woman’s body.

Police say the woman was crossing the highway when a driver hit and killed her. The driver did stop and no charges are expected to be filed.
