SEABROOK, TX - Something particularly bizarre is happening in an upscale neighborhood in Lakeview.  After a domestic incident a few months ago, a woman kicked her husband out of their home. Since then, the guy has been living outside, not in the doghouse, but on the front lawn.

This is neither the first, nor the last time you'll hear a couple is having trouble.  But come on!  A hobo who owns a $1.8 million home?  We should ask him for some financial advice.

"This is my property and I'm more comfortable at my property than somewhere else," expressed Sharafat Khan, 69.  He's a diabetic patient and says he'll camp there until his wife, a doctor, will forgive him.   The couple has two adult children and, according to police reports, they've been having issues for quite a while.

"We've been together for 32 years," Khan explains.

It's a disturbing and at the same time heartbreaking situation for neighbors who want to help but don't know how.

"I just feel that I have a responsibility to make sure no one dies on the front yard," said Debbie Scoggins, who lives next door.

To make things worse, the wife put a note on the front door warning people not to bring food or drinks, because she doesn't want the house infested with maggots.

The Lakeview Police Department claims there's nothing they can do about it. This is a domestic dispute, they say, and the guy is camping  on his own property.

The divorce is in process, and hopefully these guys will find a safe resolution.  But now you know that a home away from home doesn't have to be so far away.
