FRANKLIN COUNTY, VT -- Forget National Lampoon's. Houston's own Randy Quaid seems to have taken a vacation from reality.

The actor and his wife Evi are being held on $500,000 bail in Vermont after they were arrested on Friday, trying to cross into the U.S. from Canada.

The pair is wanted in California for felony vandalism charges going back to a property dispute in California in 2010. Not long after the alleged incident, they took off and turned up in Canada, supposedly seeking asylum for fear of so-called "Hollywood star whackers."

Evi was granted Canadian citizenship, but Randy's was denied. Now they duo may be extradited back to Santa Barbara to face a judge.
