HOUSTON - The investigator in Deputy Darren Goforth’s murder was suspended after he admitted to having “consensual sexual contact” with a key witness during the criminal investigation.

Harris County Sheriff Ron Hickman suspended Craig Clopton and his disciplinary hearing is scheduled to begin this morning.

Sources say the witness is the same woman who allegedly had an affair with Goforth at the time of his murder.
