November 11: The Twist, Metallica and Black Sabbath

On this Day in Music history, Hank Ballard was recording the dance classic "The Twist." The year was 1958 but it wasn't until a few years later when Chubby Checker recorded a cover of the song and made it a hit.

In 1997, rock legends Metallica held a free concert for fans  in Philadelphia. More than 100,000 people attended the surprise show.

Black Sabbath announced they were hitting the road and going back out on tour on this day in 2011.
